Charity skate marathon ends at Braunton Bowl

added to the website on Aug 08, 2011

The newly painted Braunton Bowl hosted the final leg of a truly amazing 24 mile skateboard marathon on Tuesday, August 9th.

The Four Parks Tour 2011 was organised by Lampard Skate Club – Lampard is a school for students aged 7 to 16 with complex needs including autism, speech and language difficulties. The skaters pushed-off at Appledore ramp around 9am, then took in Bideford and Rock Park Barnstaple, arriving at Braunton around 4.30pm – a journey of around 24 miles!

The team are trying to raise funds to try to get a club together, so please try support this worthy cause and spare a few pennies if you can. The photo shows skaters Tom Forrester, Rich Unsworth, Steve Beardsley, David Newsome and Andy Norman at the end of their journey.
