Merry Christmas from the Museum of British Surfing!
added to the website on Dec 24, 2012
The team at the Museum of British Surfing would like to wish our visitors and supporters all over the world a very merry Christmas! We hope you have a wonderful festive holiday period & stay safe and well wherever you are.
Despite Saturday’s devastating floods in North Devon we are still open & many businesses affected in Braunton are doing their best to get back in their feet as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone effected in our local area and around the UK.
You can still visit for just £2 – simply download this voucher or show it on your phone at reception – Museum of British Surfing Christmas Voucher – use it no later than December 30th 2012 to get our Christmas special entry price.
It’s the last chance to see our stunning exhibition ‘The Art of Surf’, which ends on December 30th – showing 200 years of art in surfing and some of the most beautiful surfboards in Britain. Plus of course their are loads of children’s activities – including the final month of our popular surfboard art competition for under 16s, an overall winner will be picked at the end of December.
Our museum shop is free to enter and all proceeds go to our charity, if you’re looking to pick up a unique present with your Christmas money!
In the New Year we have our charity fundraising big wave film night coming up on January 10th, advance tickets are on sale now at the museum and The Thatch pub in Croyde.
The Museum of British Surfing will be closed from New Year’s Eve to refit the venue with the new exhibition for next year ‘Sixties SURFER!’ – we’ll re-open just before Easter 2013.
The charity is appealing to supporters for donations to help make up for losing vital trade due to the severe floods in Braunton in the run-up to Christmas – online donations can be made by clicking here – or you can help by signing up to easyfundraising when you’re shopping online, and major retailers will make a donation for each purchase made without you spending an extra penny. Thank you for your support.
