2014 surf heritage raffle

Merry Christmas for raffle prize winners!

added to the website on Dec 22, 2014

It’s going to be a very Merry Christmas for ten lucky people who won prizes in our first annual Surf Heritage Raffle, that raised more than £1,600 to support the work of the Museum of British Surfing – a huge THANK YOU to everyone that bought tickets! We’d also like to thank our wonderful prize partners for their generous donations for the 2014 raffle.

And in an amazing act of generosity, second prize winner Matt Bailey from Didcot, donated the 1967 Tiki surfboard that he won back to the museum!

The main photo with this post shows Tiki founder Tim Heyland, Matt and museum founder Peter Robinson. “We’re really grateful to Matthew, it is an incredible gesture of support. This is a rare surfboard and among the first Tim Heyland made when he started up Tiki in Abergavenny,” said Peter. “We may now auction the board to raise even more money which will help the museum develop over the coming year.”

The draw was held at the Museum of British Surfing in Braunton, and the winners have been notified (we’re adding photos in the gallery below as the prizes are received):
