added to the website on Sep 26, 2014

You can take part in our first-ever annual ‘surf heritage charity raffle’, aiming to raise £5,000 to support our work at the Museum of British Surfing celebrating & sharing our amazing surf culture.

The top prize is a fabulous one-off Miller Surfboards ‘Styler’ longboard worth £1,000, hand shaped here in North Devon by Ellie Miller in surfing museum colours with traditional resin tints and featuring our logo. The raffle ends at 4pm December 6th 2014, and winners will be notified by the 13th.

The total prize fund is a fantastic £2,500, and you can also win an original 1967 single fin surfboard (note this is almost 50 years old, and not mint!) donated by its shaper, Tim Heyland at Tiki; one-off verre eglomise ‘Moon Jellyfish’ art by Danni Bradford; unique sustainable solid ash bellyboard and bag by Plank; a men’s ‘Cirrus’ jacket from Finisterre; £150 voucher to spend with Errant Surf Holidays; sustainable ash bodysurfing hand-planes by Plank; a meal for two at The Thatch, Croyde; a Museum of British Surfing mug, postcard set, stickers and surf wax.

You can buy tickets online here, or at the Museum of British Surfing in Braunton.

The Museum of British Surfing is the national registered charity (1131433), here to preserve the UK’s rich surfing heritage, celebrate new achievements and help shape the future of surfing in Great Britain. As well as our core work in British surf culture we also do a lot of vital work in our local community – running a 24/7 access skate bowl, providing a local youth club building and working to conserve our local environment & encourage responsible tourism in North Devon.

Every penny raised will support the work of the Museum of British Surfing and help us grow & develop in the future.

Surfing museum founder Peter Robinson said: “We’re really grateful for the generous support of everyone who has donated such an amazing range of prizes for us to give away – it makes a huge difference to us being able to continue our work, and hopefully expand. We also need to thank Tris Cokes at Homeblown for donating the blank for Ellie to shape her board from, Seabase in Newquay for the glassing materials and Mick at Classic Surf Supplies for providing the board’s stunning red RFC pivot fin – plus Andy Wright at Coast Creative in Braunton for designing the raffle tickets.”
