SUMMARY:The Way of the Waves
DESCRIPTION:The Way of the Waves \nA BOOK LAUNCH AND FILM NIGHT \nIn 2024 Bude surfer and writer Martin Dorey set off on his bike\, towing surfboards\, to surf his way through France and Spain to Sagres in Portugal. Guided by the stories of those who had gone before\, including Kevin Cooke\, Andrew Cotton\, Martin Ward and Graeme Bunt\, he visited Europe’s most famous breaks to rediscover the soul of European surfing.\n\n‘The Way of the Waves’ is to be published by Bloomsbury on 11th September. \nAlong the way Martin ‘found’ some previously unseen Super 8 footage of Bude surfers discovering a new wave in a remote village on Gran Canaria in 1968. Unable to let it lie unfinished\, Martin helped John Cutts\, who shot the original film\, create a new version of Finding San Nicolas with modern-day interviews. \nMartin also interviewed Bude legend Pete Vickery\, a surfer who joined Bude Surf Life Saving Club in 1953\, made his own hollow wooden board in the 1950s and travelled to Biarritz in 1963. Vicko The Movie is Pete’s hilarious story of getting there first!

SUMMARY:The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun
DESCRIPTION:The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun” is a film by George Greenough. \nThis revolutionary masterpiece of a film from 1970 has now been fully rescanned and remastered into a stunning new cinematic experience.Experience remote Australia and hidden California\, as ridden by Bob McTavish\, Ted Spencer\, David “Baddy” Treloar\, Chris Brock\, Gary Keys\, Russell Hughes\, and a brigade of the underground’s best.Check out Northern New South Wales in the golden era of the late 1960s\, with empty perfection at Lennox Head. This release is essential to watch because it is a cinematic masterwork of the highest magnitude.George Greenough chronicles ground zero of the shortboard revolution as it evolved in 1968. \nThis highly personalized film is the prime instigator’s perspective of the innovations that changed surfing forevermore.Explore “The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun” from the inside out\, with George in groundbreaking point-of-view sequences that are utterly unique.Hear the distinctive improvisational soundtrack\, scored on the spot by Dennis Dragon and Denny Aaberg with their cult band\, Farm.Grinding organ tones and thumping bass with a collaboration of musicians with surf music and blues roots. \nOriginally financed entirely with the proceeds generated by Greenough’s fishing business\, this document is entirely free of any commercial restraints or advertising sludge.‘You might be in there for only a few seconds in real time\, but in your head\, it goes on for hours. It is an experience that’s hard to describe\, riding inside of a big\, grinding wave. \nOften you are riding so deep inside the tube that you don’t make it out. You take a terrible wipeout. What matters is when you’re in there\, it’s the time interval when you’re inside the wave. Time enters space\, a zone of its own. The only reality is what’s happening right then.’George Greenough. \n  \n  \nPlease book tickets here :- https://www.tickettailor.com/events/museumofbritishsurfing/1352196

DESCRIPTION:The 60th anniversary of The Endless Summer is a perfect opportunity to celebrate this iconic surf documentary. Released in 1966\, the film remains a beloved classic in both surf culture and cinema history.
