The Museum of British Surfing needs your help – we are currently looking for enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in surfing to join the newly established volunteer programme at this award-winning and vibrant heritage attraction in North Devon.
Whether you’re a student looking to gain valuable work experience, a professional looking to give something back to community projects, or actively looking to get your foot on the charity or surf industry ladder, this opportunity is tailor-made for you.
Newly recruited volunteers will help deliver excellent customer service to thousands of visitors and will also have the opportunity to get involved with marketing & events, learn about the charity sector and play their part in the UK’s growing surf industry.
The Museum of British Surfing opened the doors of its first permanent home in Braunton, North Devon, in April 2012. Prospective volunteers will provide front-of-house services to visitors and ensure first-class visitor satisfaction.
It has the most extensive and historically significant collection of vintage surfboards, literature and memorabilia on public display and for academic research in Europe.
The museum staged temporary exhibitions all over the UK from 2003 that have been seen by more than 350,000 people. It became a Registered Charity (1131433) in 2009, establishing itself as the national body responsible for looking after Britain’s rich surfing heritage that dates back more than two centuries.
