Opening Times


The First Wave – surfers & their stories‘ – open April 5th to December 31st

Opening hours: 10am – 4pm (11am – 3pm on Sundays)

School holiday April 5th – 28th: 0pen 7 days

April 29th onwards – closed on Tuesdays

Opening times for the rest of the year will be published soon.

Each year we open from the start of the Spring end-of-term school holiday, or Easter (whichever comes first) until December 31st.


Our museum is fully accessible, but if you have special requirements please contact us.

We are located in the middle of the main Caen Street car park.

There are no toilets at the museum, the nearest public toilets are less than 50 metres away in the Caen Street car park.

We have our own skate bowl at the back of the museum, which is free to use (normal safety rules apply).

We are next door to Braunton Museum and Braunton Countryside Centre – both are free, so you can soak up some local history and learn more about our special environment.

There is full range of shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and petrol stations in Braunton – your perfect day out combined with a trip to one of our stunning beaches in the North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
