Green Travel Plan

The Museum of British Surfing is committed to reducing our environmental impact. We encourage all visitors, our staff and volunteers to use ‘green’ or sustainable transport wherever possible.
Cycling and Walking

We are located right next to the Tarka Trail – one of the country’s longest continuous traffic-free cycling and walking paths. It’s a nice and flat run alongside the River Taw between Barnstaple and Braunton with some beautiful views through the North Devon Biosphere Reserve and ending up right outside our building (6 miles). The Braunton Inn is a good place to stop along the way.
There is also a cycle lane on the Saunton Road between Lobb Field and Braunton.
There are uncovered cycle stands at our skate bowl and next door at Braunton Countryside Centre.

Bus and Train

There are regular bus services and the main stop is 100 metres away on Exeter Road at the George Hotel, with another 50 metres away on Caen Street.

Coach Parties

Please head to the designated bus parking area at the Tesco store, Vellator Way, Braunton EX33 2DU. Visitors will have a less than 10 minute walk along the Tarka Trail to reach the Museum of British Surfing.
