British big wave rider’s starring role

The special guest at our charity big wave film night was none other than one of the world’s finest – Andrew Cotton!

The North Devon surfer features in the new movie premiered last night, the Zon North Canyon Show. A stunning documentary with Cotty and Hawaii’s Garrett McNamara riding giant waves at Nazare in Portugal (including that world record 78 foot monster).

The team at the legendary pub, The Thatch in Croyde hosted the event, doing a wonderful job converting it into a cinema – complete with 1950s usherettes serving popcorn!

The night raised over £400 for the Museum of British Surfing registered charity (1131433) – a huge thanks to everyone who supported the event.

With limited tickets and Christmas in full flow not everyone got to see the movie – so we’re showing it again at The Thatch at 7.30pm on Thursday January 10th 2013!

Advance tickets only priced £5 are available from the Museum of British Surfing in Braunton until January 30th (11am to 3pm), or The Thatch, Croyde. Tickets now on sale. If you want to buy online please email us at: contact@museumofbritishsurfing.org.uk

With thanks to Steve Pedlar at The Thatch for the photos.
