Magazine from 1943 shows Bellyboarding during the Second World War

In October 1943 the Second World War may have been raging across Europe, but it is good to see that our war workers were getting some free time to spend it down at the beach and a spot of bellyboarding.

We are very grateful for the donation of this magazine to the Museum of British Surfing collection by Mark Hickingbotham.

If you have any magazines with surfing references in them that you could donate to the museum collection, please get in touch. One of our long term goals is to put together and digitise a definitive collection of surf print media.
