Volunteer with the Museum of British Surfing

If you love meeting people, we’d love to meet you! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team from April 2014 and become ‘the face’ of the Museum of British Surfing in Braunton, North Devon.

Each year we welcome thousands of visitors from all over the world at our award-winning and vibrant heritage attraction & we’re now looking for people to join our lovely band of volunteers delivering excellent customer service – plus get involved with managing our collection, organising events or leading fundraising drives.

We open again on April 5th 2014 with a fantastic new exhibition ‘The First Wave – surfers & their stories’. It is the story of British surfing history, told by the people who were there!

Whether you’re a student looking to gain valuable work experience, a professional looking to give something back to the community, or actively looking to get your foot on the museum, charity or surf industry ladder – this opportunity is tailor-made for you. Surfing is now worth an estimated £1.8 billion to the UK economy, and this is a great opportunity to learn about its amazing heritage & share our story with the public.

Newly recruited volunteers will help deliver excellent customer service to thousands of visitors and will also have the opportunity to get involved with marketing & events, learn about the charity sector and play their part in the UK’s growing surf industry.

For the front of house role you need to be able to spare at least three hours a week. You can download a description of the role here:
